Sunrise Ft. Lauderdale's western suburbs have found ways to compete with the city's famous beaches for tourist time. Sunrise is home to Sawgrass Mills, one of the largest outlet malls in the country. I'm not a fan of outlet malls but Sawgrass Mills does have a Hard Rock Cafe and a Rainforest Cafe in case you get hungry. |
Coconut Creek A little further up the beltway, Butterfly World, located in Coconut Creek, is perhaps Ft. Lauderdale's most delightful surprises, offering a serene, ultra-relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle. Here you can walk through a series of beautifully landscaped aviaries that are home to hundreds of brilliantly colored butterflies representing a variety of species. |
