It's amazing to think that a tiny island with a small population at the southernmost tip of the continental United States would stand out as perhaps one of the most unique and colorful cities in the world. |

| | I first visited Key West with my family when I was a teenager. Many writers, artists, and other people representing different "fringes" of society have long found refuge here amidst some of God's most wonderous natural creations (coral reefs, sunsets, ecosystems, etc.). It's that odd mix of social eccentricity and natural wonderment that make Key West perhaps like no place else on earth. |

| | After visiting Key West several times during my college years, I returned with my girlfriend and a diamond ring. Let me tell you, nothing is more romantic than proposing on your own privately chartered catamaran at sunset somewhere off the edge of the continent where the blue and green swirls of tropical water blur the boundaries of the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. |
