Omeo Swimming Hole

Swimming in fresh water is a totally exhilirating experience - just like the surf, but without the salt! The Omeo swimming hole is the equivalent of the local swimming pool and many of the townspeople flock there on hot days.

The deeper part of the 'hole' (2.7 metres) has a platform above it, from which you can dive or bomb. There is also a shallower part, where younger or less experienced swimmers can wade or laze about. It's a pretty casual set up - there is no life guard (but also no current), nor any rules. However, during the time I spent there everyone was well behaved and courteous.

A great way to spend Summer afternoons!
