Cape Breton is a really beautiful part of Canada. I fell in love with this place. It is steeped with Irish and Scottish history which makes it an almost mystical place. There are many trails to take but one which I would recommend is the ceilidh trail. This brings you to the very tip of Cape Breton. Cape Breton Highlands National Park is a really amazing place. It was June when I went and there seemed to be Moose every where. The sun sets were incredible up here, sometimes in life you find a place where you just want to stay forever, this is one of them places. If you keep your eyes peeled you may also spot some Whales. Meat Cove is also a lovely place, the road does end before here and it turns into a bit of a dirt road, great fun! Its also the furthest north of the island. This comes highly recommend, don't go into a shop around here if the door isn't wide open. It was a Sunday about 11:00am and I was hungry and decided to stop off at the next shop that I saw. I stopped at a medium sized shop and it did seem open. I pushed the door and open it went. After filling my basket with biscuits and chocolate (the essentials) the alarm started going off. Not knowing what to do I done a legger. I did leave the goods behind so don't worry guys! |

Bwana_Brown Sun Jan 11, 2004 23:10 UTC I had a laugh over your shopping adventures! Be careful - my son-in-law is a Mountie on Cape Breton! I almost made it to Meat Cove a couple of years ago but we stopped at John Cabot Prov. Park a few miles away! | Sar77 Mon Dec 1, 2003 15:09 UTC so you were the guy they were looking for on the island for breaking and entering...i think there is a warrant out for your arrest. : ) i recognize your picture as well...someone did a nice sketch of you and plastered it all over the place. : ) | ncfg Fri Oct 31, 2003 15:57 UTC I love Islands, i hope you put some tips. |
