Labrador ia a really remote place. I got the ferry from St.Barbe to Blanc Sablon in Quebec. I started hitching when I got off the ferry and got picked up in a couple of minutes. Within a couple of miles I was in Labrador, the time even changes a half an hour which is a bit weird. Stopped off half the way at an ancient burial ground which was interesting. Red Bay is the furthest you can go by land in Labrador. The villages further up are only accessible by boat. I stayed here for 2 nights but to be honest 1 night would do. Its a lovely place but there's not much to do. There's 1 restaurant and a shop but thats it. There's no pub or anything else here. There's also a good museum there! |
