Marmaris, one of Turkey's biggest tourist resorts
.......... Located where the (36S 51'N, 28W 16 'E) Aegean and Mediterranean Seas meet , Marmaris boasts the worlds largest natural harbour, surrounded by pine-clad hills. Situated in southwest Turkey, in the province of Mugla, Marmaris is one of Turkey's biggest tourist resorts. To the north lies beautiful Gulf of Gokova, to the south the Mediterranean. On the west Datca peninsula and to the east Koycegiz lake. The hills running in to the sea and the beautiful bays make Marmaris very special. Marmaris is also close to Dalyan (Caunos), and Ephesus hot holiday and Historical spots of Turkey...

..........Whether youre coming by travel agency or independent, if you are reading these pages, you probably in the search of useful tips and offers that can be helpful during your visit to Marmaris.

..........I am also planning to write an article about Itinerary Ideas for 7 days and 15 days stay ( most of visitors ) that can give practical information before they arrive.... Even if you are already keep coming to Turkey and know most of I am trying inform please keep reading and help me to correct any missing/ wrong information if neccessary....

Well... Here we go...
..........Firstly how to get here... Dalaman Airport (DLM) has daily flights from/to Istanbul and Ankara, and Charter Flights from/to London, Manchester and several countries around the world during the summer months. You can easily book with the different travel agencies by internet or localy for the flights.

..........For those who has booked with the flight and accommodation, Airport Transfers provided by their agency mostly with coaches by dropping every client to their hotels and you are being hosted by Rep for information and any individual needs during your holiday... and those who need airport transfer can find useful information on Transportation Tips section.
.........For those who are concerning about the hotel's location check which district the hotel is located... Siteler and Uzunyali are next to the beach but Beldibi and Armutalan districts are quite far from the sea... Also keep reading and I guess you will find some helpful related information in the Exploring the Town Chapter.
Marmaris
..........
Exploring the Town
Its huge marina, coastal developments and proximity to Dalaman Airport, gives Marmaris is the advantage to be a major destination point for all summer season. Ulusal Egemenlik Avenue lies in the heart of the town, cuts Marmaris in half. The maze of narrow streets east of it is home to most things of interest, though nothing is left of the sleepy fishing village that Marmaris was about seven or ten years ago. Iskele Avenue is the centrum, where the welcoming statue of Ataturk is next to the helpful Tourism Information Office 412 1035 (Open-Mon?Fri 8.30am?noon & 1?5.30/7.30pm; summer also Sat & Sun) Here you can ask for a City Map that you will find it very useful. The School which is just opposite to the Avenue. Bazaar is the place of Town-Nightlife - Shopping. Kalei?i district offers the warren of streets at the base of a tiny castle, making this area a pleasant wander.
The Castle museum 412 1459 (Open-Tues?Sun 8am?noon & 13?17.30pm; approx ?1) has a worthwhile archeology and ethnography collection. The old part of town is a residential area around the castle. The old houses, all under preservation order and the narrow streets leading to them are a delight to explore: there are some classic examples of Mugla architecture on display. Marmaris later began to spread out around the castle hill and along the shore, but the growth of tourism resulted in housing being prohibited along the shoreline and planning permission granted only to tourist hotels. From Iskele Square along the cape through Yacth Marina 412 1439; there are dozens of yachts, bare-boats; vessels, gulets, Daily Tour boats line docked. Also Netsel Marina features a complex; includes a large shopping centre a yacht club, restaurants, bars , cafes ,travel agents, a supermarket, an amphitheater, a swimming pool and Marine maintenance specialists.
Beldibi and Armutalan districts are away from the waterfront (a mile or two), but still offer a variety of good numerous hotels and apartments; mostly with swimming pool and joyful facilities. Alsohere is an impressive choice of hundreds of restaurants where you can find comprehensive and extensive selections of Turkish and International cuisines for every individual taste; since they also offer entertainment when the dinner is over so you can join the party there as well as in the whole town. The Theater in Armutalan offers Live Performances and Concerts during the summer. To the north of the centre where the main Avenue leaves the promonade to the left, Uzunyali district lines through till Siteler, with the most cheerful night-clubs, bars and discotheques open mostly till dawn, so you can end your day in the swimming-beach party when the sun is rising up.
