Don't miss it... If you've been to the Great Ocean Road, you must have driven past Geelong. Have you made a stop to check out this location? If not, you've definitely missed out.
I missed the chance to see Geelong closely when I headed to Great Ocean Road from Melbourne in June 2007. That's an acceptable mistake 'cos my schedule was super tight and didn't allow me to have any spare time for other locations. 'How does Geelong look like?' - I always wonder since that trip. Perhaps I should check this place out. |
Good Friday 2008 This time I still didn't have the luxury to spend lots of time in Geelong. On the way back from a day trip in Queenscliff, I suddenly felt like having a stop in Geelong to take a good look. Indeed, this decision brought me surprises.
The city itself isn't too big. Perhaps it's Good Friday, the streets were pretty quiet and empty. Most shops and even cafes/restaurants were closed. That's good tho', at least I couldn't be distracted by the smell of coffee.
I realized that the coast of Geelong was that lovely.... |
The Coast towards Eastern Beach No need to mention about the loveliness of the uncountable colourful wooden statues along the coast, the design of the sea-pool at Eastern Beach is superb! Have you ever imagined that you could do lap and dive from a dive-tower in the sea? Go to Eastern Beach to check that 'sea-pool' out! It's an enclosed region of the sea near the beach which allows you to do what you can do in a swimming pool. It's really impressive! |
