Tucked away in a corner or Blouberg you'll find this little gem. Don't be fooled by it's appearance of being pricey, we were pleasantly surprised by the prices and fare on offer.
Once inside, you'll be blown away, not by the howling southeaster outside, but rather by the breathtaking views from within. Uninterrupted views of Table Mountain, Robben Island and Table Bay are a treat from the restaurant situated on the waters edge.

This place will always be special to me as it is located at what was once the Merchant Naval Academy I attended as a youngster.
As it's name suggests, it is now the training ground for youngsters entering South Africa's fast growing hospitality industry.
The fare dished up is of a very high standard, presentation is good and prices pretty reasonable. The location is great with a beautiful view over Table Bay.
The Sunday buffet carvery @ R85 pp is very popular and it is a great place to relax with a sundowner.

Although it's called The Blue Peter Hotel, It's not really that.(to us locals anyhow)
Although I've listed it as a restaurant, it's not really that either although they do serve light meals.
The Blue Peter is the place Cape Townians go to chill out as the sun sets over Table Bay.
Grab your favourite drink at the bar then find your spot on the terraced lawn and relax as the sun sets over the bay. Bring the whole family (including the dogs)
This is what Cape Town is all about!
Favorite Dish: Only light meals served - The sunsets are the speciality!
Awarded the Platinum award for their wine list - One of only 22 hotels nationwide to receive this honour!
Address: Blouberg Strand
Comparison: least expensive
