Heidelberg Travel Guide: 1,039 reviews and 2,716 photos
As an American, it was kind of weird going to Heidelberg and hearing all kinds of people walking around spekaing English. By the time I went to Heidelberg, I had been in Europe for over a month and not met a single American tourist, and all of a sudden there were swarms of them all over the place.
Tourists aside, Heidelberg is a wonderful city, with tons to see. Philosophenweg-great for wandering or drinking a beer on the corner with a friend, paddleboating on the river, the Altstadt or whatever else you might find there.
- Pros:Beautiful and fun
- Cons:Full of tourists

This is a really fun town! I studied here for a semester during college! Yep, plenty of Americans coming through here - also an American military base very close by. ;-)
This fountain has a near perfect match in Rome among the Fountains at the Four Corners.
Heidelberg=ok. You got the spirit of it ... but on your next trip to Germany I'd like to recommend a Berlin summer...quite different from the rest of Germany...wonderful...ugly... beauty ... contradictive ... exciting ... Cheers!
