Buildings in Graz near the Rathaus - Graz

Graz, located in southern Austria is the capital of the Steiermark and the 2003 Cultural Capital of the European Union. I hate to say it, but I really wasn't all that impressed with Graz. It might have had something to do with the circumstances surrounding going there...we had to sleep in the train station, got ditched by our "friend," followed by a creepy guy and were told repeatedly, "Oh you ahve to go to Graz, it's so cool!"

I think our expectations were a little too high and our moods a little too low.

All that aside, I am not saying that you should not go to Graz, just don't let all those things that happened to us, happen to you.

We weren't expecting much from Graz at all but I quite liked it. Though I didn't have to sleep in train station of course...

I found that by visiting Graz during the Sturm Zeit, the town becomes even more interesting;-] Of course, I didn't have to sleep in the train station or be followed by Gov Schwarzenegger's cousin, either;-\

Graz is one of my favourite small cities in Europe. Your page has really captured it's charm.
