Cafe Prueckel: Coffee and Cake
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Cafe Prueckel

Cafe Prueckel is a traditional Viennese Coffee House, having been in existence for about 100 years. Have a Latte or a Melange and a piece of Sacher Torte. One reccomendation: if you go late at night, get the Apple Strudel, because the Sacher is not so fresh at 10pm.

    Cafe Schwarzenberg: Eiskaffee
  • Tip Rating:

  • Restaurant Name: Cafe Schwarzenberg

Cafe Schwarzenberg is another traditional Viennese Coffee house. It was a nice place to hang out on the terrace and people-watch. In additon to coffee, they have great food-well great-looking food, anyway. I only had an Eiskaffe, but everyone else was having breakfast, and it looked really good. They also have live music at times.

Useful advice about the 'caped crusaders' swarming over around the Opera House and Stephansplatz! Oddly enough, I have yet to be stopped by them - perhaps I look vaguely Austrian? Hiding my tourist map whenever striding purposefully past them helps!

I am in process of building my Austria pages and love yours. It is hard not to fall in love with Vienna and Salzburg.

While living in Europe I should definitely take the opportunity and travel as much as possible. Thanks for "showing" me Vienna, it has been on my wish list for a long time. Very interesting tips here.
