Trieste-City of Beaches & Sunburns

by shellybelly567 - last update: Jan 14, 2004

Adriatic Sea, Trieste

Eat, Sleep, Swim, Sunbathe

Trieste was my first experience with Italy, and oh what a great experience it was. After a month in Germany and Austria, we were thrilled to see the ocean and some palm trees.

Honestly, I didn't see much of the actual city of Trieste, but I sure did spend a lot of time on the beach!

And now that it's been more than 6 months since I've been there, I miss it more and more. I constantly find myself daydreaming about the warm salty water and all the beautiful people.

Pros:"Not full of tourists, Hostel directly on the beach"
Cons:""Beach" consists of large boulders and brick boardwalk-no sand here"
In A Nutshell:"Mini paradise for exhausted backpackers"

A corner of Italy I've long wanted to visit - but haven't made it yet. Your page makes it look very enticing!
