H&M (of course) et al.: Shopping in Bamberg's Old Town

Bamberg's Altstadt (old town) is great for shopping, eating and hanging out. I was introduced to H&M and Zara here as well as many other European shops I had never seen before.

Shopping in the Altstadt is fun because it's really pretty, with historic buildings and geranium lined bridges and there are cheap gelato stands everywhere.

There is a pretty even mix of small shops and big chain stores if you take the time to get off the main drags.

What to buy: Check out the Lingerie section at H&M. It's just as good as Victoria's Secret, but cheaper.

What to pay: H&M is pretty cheap, comparable to the Gap or Old Navy, but there is a wide selection of shops in Bamberg, so you could go super expensive or super cheap.
