Terracotta Rooves on the River Regnitz - Bamberg

Bamberg-our only escape!

Bamberg was the big-ish city nearest the castle. We usually had Mondays off from rehearsal,(see my Pommersfelden Page), so a lot of us would go to Bamberg for the day to let off steam from the last week of rehearsals and partying.

Bamberg is a beautiful little city with many large churches and historical buildings, and a great shopping district- just don't try to find a hiking backpack there-Emmanuelle knows what I'm talking about.

Bamberg is indeed a very lovely town. Just don't try the local specialty Bamberger Rauchbier. This has got to be the worst beverage in the world (and they're so proud of it).
