    Xocoa: Like Chocolate? Come Here!!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Name of Shop: Xocoa

A great gift shop for chocolate lovers - or an excuse to treat yourself to something choccy!!

What To Buy: There are some unusual ideas here, such as a chocolate CD for music lovers, chocolate beer, chocolate shower gel and a very yummy looking chocolate liqueur. There are also a range of chocolate bars (such as Jamaican/ginger/diabetic chocolate and lots more). Or why not try selection of individual chocolates from the large cabinet... these include 5 spices, tequila, rum, orange, hazelnut, raspberry... and lots more!! All presented in a lovely box or tin.

What To Pay: Single chocolates start from only 0.70€

    Frañol: ¿Hablas Frañol?
  • Tip Rating:
  • Name of Shop: Frañol

So, what is frañol? it´s the mixture of French (francés) with Spanish (español)....

And so, this shop is dedicated to French (mainly) and Spanish studies. It has a range of books for children and adults - also including some in English - as well as a wide selection of good quality stationary.

Additionally, French tuition is offered here, as well as internet access.

What To Pay: reasonable prices for good quality goods.

Book World: Do you speak English? Quieres Hablar Español?
  • Tip Rating:
  • Name of Shop: Book World

Book World is a good place to start if you are teaching or learning English, looking for English books or indeed learning Spanish from English.

There is a wide range of English books for learning, grammar, vocubulary... including an excellent selection of dictionaries - including specialised dictionaries (legal, science, etc.). Also there are many books about Spanish history and culture (in English and Spanish).

Additionally, a good stock of books are included for those learning Spanish. Prices vary in comparison to those on popular internet sites (such as amazon.com) and can be significantly cheaper or more expensive, so you may want to compare.

Staff here are helpful with enquiries.

What To Pay: In comparison with other bookshops and online prices, Book World is fairly average - sometimes more, sometimes less.

    .....*:..*..:*.....: Shopping in Salamanca
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Name of Shop: .....*:..*..:*.....

The area of Salamanca is the zone for serious shoppers in the centre of Madrid. (Note, this is not to be confused with the city of Salamanca, located several kilometres outside of Madrid!)

The main shopping streets are Calle Goya, Calle Velazquez, Calle Serrano.... (and so the metro stations are Goya, Velazquez, Serrano - all Line 4)

In Goya you will find the main high street names and a variety of clothing shops for men, women and children, as well as the big Spanish department store - El Corte Inglés.
