Some of the highlights... | *always* enjoy your journey!! |
Valencia makes up one of three parts of the Comunidad Valenciana region of Spain - the other parts being Castellón and Alicante.
The city has a lot of history, and currently has a small casco viejo - old town - (cobbled streets, lovely bares antiguos) and a more modern part of the city. There was once a river running right through the heart, but after overflowing and flooding some years ago, it was redirected. In it's place, a huge long green park space was subsequently created. Here you will find runners, skaters, a chidren's play zone, and a chance to stroll peacefully contemplating the city around you....
Valencia train station is really quite beautiful, with the main entrance hall covered in mosaic from floor to ceiling.... Next to the station is the bullring, with a selection of interesting market stalls inhabiting the shelter from its outer walls. The stalls are mainly selling South American crafts, clothes, and other items.
Another important part of the city is the modern architectural zone that make up the zone of the Aquarium - L'Oceanografic, Science Museum, Opera House and IMAX cinema. More information will be added later about these places in my tips. |
