Although I no longer live in Singapore I must say it was an incredible growing experience living there.
Singapore might seem way too strict and structured for most people and it is true but things work there. Streets are clean, people dont steal and laws work.
As a tourist who spends just a few days there, you wont be able to experience Singapore to the fullest but if you ever get to live there then the experience can turn out to be amazing.
Everything is exotic, like food, the intensity of hot weather, people, places, smells, temples.
I have studied there and I lived with my ex husband. We made lots of friends and local people are extremely friendly and curious about other cultures.
It is a country that shares mainly 3 etchnic groups: Chinese, Muslims and Indians. They all live in stable conditions and give to the country a great mix of cultural backgrounds.
I miss Singapore a lot and I totally reccomend it for living. You get a nice balance of an Asian city with Cosmopolitan Western characteristics. |
| | Food Hawker centres Hawker Centres are areas of little shops that serve any type of meals. You can choose from fried rice to, the most extravagant dishes. You have Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, you name it.
These centres are very simple but food is unbelieveably cheap and nice, You can also drink freshly squeezed juices of tropical fruits like Papaya, Coconut, Mango or strange fruits like Dragon fruit. |
