Everything in its place

My Kung Fu Is Better Than Yours

It's a love like no other. I want you to fall in love with it like I did. I want to share it with you, to show you everything, tell you everything, everything you need to love it, to feel what I feel when a sight, a sound, a smell reminds me of a time, a place, a feeling that was never mine before. The city whispers its memories to me, compensates for everything I've ever shared with it. A tear for a tear, a smile for a smile. And the more you love it, the more you share, the more it will whisper to me, the more I will become.
We are not one but we overlap, we are not merged but always together.
The streets of this city are a map of my life. Everything I'd ever done, every emotion I'd felt were recorded in every brick of every building in every street I'd ever passed through. And as I pass through again, those bricks are calling to me, and the memories are vivid again.

Every day I navigate through the corridors of my past, leaving marks for the future, and the city and I, we breathe together.

This is what home means to me.
A friend once told me, whatever place you go to, you either like it or not, it's only your home town that you love and hate all at once.

I feel those bipolar emotions on a daily basis as I pass the streets of Zagreb.

I feel overwhelmed with admiration as every day I discover new aspects of my Zagreb, each more fascinating and lovable than the one before. I don't even mind the downsides. If you love something, you accept the whole package.

But every now and then I'm being smothered by the feeling of captivity and stagnation, and I feel I have to get some air or the intensity of my emotions will crush me.

The sharks got it right. The moment you stop swimming is the moment you die.
