Shanghai

Pudong Skyline

Pudong skyline
Shanghai is known by many names-Paris of China, Queen of the Orient, or the not too flattering, Whore of the East. Regardless, it is such a fascinating city and still developing. The city is an architect s dream and very modern (was told it was totally different 10 years ago)...it has some of the most creatively designed
skyscrapers anywhere and right next to it lies humble alleyways that takes you back 50+ years. It is an
unplanned mix of new and old with a splash of colonial flare.
People's park skyline

People's Park

Besides the obvious spots such as the Bund, shopping venues of Nanjing Lu and Old City Temple, and Pudong business district (Oriental Pearl TV Tower-still think it looks ugly and Jinmao Tower), there are some really beautiful and quiet areas such as People s Park, look for the pairs of pretty white and black swans in the park's pond.
Shanghai Museum

Cultural Must-Sees

People s Square is really a wonderful place to relax , enjoy the peace, and watch the people go by. Shanghai Museum and Grand Theater are right in the square. Look for the pretty white pigeons in the park.

Pros:"So many things--wonderfully creative architecture, great shopping, beautiful parks"
Cons:"Dangerous traffic, pushy locals (nothing personal just the way things are), wide variation in prices"
In A Nutshell:"Shanghai is a city striving to get ahead"
