London has so many famous landmark to see. I thought it was surprisingly clean and scenic, especially along the Thames River. Maybe I just missed the grittier parts during my short 6 day visit.
And I was lucky enough to visit when the weather was just great--sunny and comfortably warm. |
| | Among the obvious sites: Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, and Tower Bridge (London Bridge is a plain gray concrete overpass-not to be confused with the more regal Tower Bridge).
Along the Thames River, there is the London Eye (a ferris wheel), Tate Museum, HSS Belfast, and just wonderful riverfront scenery. |
| | I found the rowhouses found throughout London charming, right out of a Dickens' novel.
Other spots I enjoyed were Finsbury Circus, the City (by Liverpool Street), and the unusual Lloyds of London insurance building. |
