Singapore-Lion City, was such an easy city to live in, its slogan should be 'if you can make it here, so what!' Given its small size and accessibility; you could probably cover most major attractions in a couple of days. |
| | Orchard Road Stroll along Clarke and Boat Quay and end up at the Merlion, the symbol of Singapore, it has a lion's body with a mermaid tail--hence the name. The Merlion is a bit of a letdown and rather small but looks more impressive against the backdrop of the city. There is shopping everywhere in the city, although most products are imported from Malaysia, Indonesia, or Thailand. The famous Orchard Road offers a more upscale shopping experience. |
| | Fort Canning Fort Canning is a well-manicured park. Take a nice quiet stroll through its paved paths and you ll forget you're in the middle of a city. The views of the city skyline are just beautiful.
Aside from certain parts, Singapore doesn't have the gritty, chaotic feeling as in other major Asian cities, it's very orderly and manageable. |
