Jordan Rocks! | Crossing the border from Israel to Jordan |
For a personalized video tour click here: Jordan Rocks! The Hashemite KingdomAs King Abdullah Hussein is quick to point out - Jordan is one of the safest countries in the Middle East. That may not be the most comforting statement, considering so many other of the volatile countries in that region against which Jordan is being benchmarked - but I found Jordan to be peaceful and accomodating. I believe this is a major reflection on its Leadership.
Long before the current young Hussein was made monarch in an unexpected, last-minute move by the late King Hussein - Jordan has shown increasing flexibility toward its neighbor to the northwest, an openmindedness and yes - even goodwill - to those of us in the West. Respectful tourism is welcome and encouraged. |

| | Land of Lawrence of Arabia If images of Lawrence of Arabia tickle your desire for adventure - if your imagination takes you to the mysterious desert; if you have ever seen Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and wondered about that magnificent scene depicting their entry into a secret city carved out of rose colored cliffs; whether you're into diving the vibrant Red Sea, hang-gliding over Wadi Rum, soaking up the magical minerals of the Dead Sea, "sandboarding" down dunes, or just relaxing in the resort town along the Gulf of Aqaba -- Jordan has it all.

Hello Beaudoins So yes -if you're interested in going to the Middle East but you're a little uncomfortable with the political environment there, please consider visiting Jordan. It's a wonderful country whose ancient beaudoin hospitality is alive and well - both in the desert and in the city.
