I spent a lot of time researching this trip. I used Virtual Tourist, Lonely Planet, videos, and the internet as resources. David and I went in October of 2002, and it was fantastic. We spent approximately two weeks in Nepal and approximately one week in Tibet (crossing the Plateau in a Toyota LandCruiser). The trip surpassed my expectations.
Footprints through Nepal
Largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal, and one of the largest in the world. It is the primary religious center for the Tibetan refugee population in Nepal.
- Pros:friendly people, inexpensive, exotic
- Cons:dirty, lots of spitting
- In a nutshell:I'm still re-living this fantastic trip. If you can swing the airfare, a week in Nepal is cheaper than a weekend in L.A.

I've already commented about the background music in your Nepal Video, which I can't find here, maybe it was on main page. Once again I've heard it. It's very much appropriate. Wonderful mixing.
nice page
Hello, Michele ! ~ What a great trip to that destination... Thanx for your nice story....
Thanks for your kind comments on my Mauritius pages, Michele! What a wonderful Nepal page you've built here, excellent detailed tips and lovely photos. Kathmandu has long been on my wishlist and your page has given me even more inspiration to pay a visit!
Good you mentiones about the water, can be a huge problem indeed, love your VT Nepal pages, and the Tangka, wow, great pics, greets Roy
Great page with interesting tips and travelogues. I hope I will visit Nepal once again, but for a longer time. In 1991 I made only a short stop of some days in Katmandu, coming from Lhasa and going back to Amsterdam.
Thanks for the B'Day wish. My mom says she wants to visit me in China this summer and go to Nepal; we'll see, both are big hypotheticals at the moment!
I have to read this page carefully - Hanan has finally finished the army and is planning to leave for Nepal & India after Pesah.
I don't know what took me so long to read this page! Fantastic! Great bottled water tip!
I've been researching VT for a few months now and only now found this page!! VERY good! Thanks!!
