Vacation within a Vacation and other Petra, Jordan Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

Believe it or not, we got an internet special of $89 a night....a far cry from their standard $350 a night. We were so lucky!

This hotel is bar none, THE place to stay in Petra....if you can afford the price tag or if like us, you can snag yourself a great deal. We were there in December which is very low season, so that would explain the reduced room rate. You never know - could happen to you. I'm including the email address below, so you can email the resort directly and inquire about pricing during your visit.

Unique Qualities: Staying at the Movenpick made us feel like we were having a vacation WITHIN our vacation! The hotel was pure luxury, from the exotic beduoin decor throughout the hotel, to the spa and fitness room, not to mention the late night tea room where we chatted with the ever cordial "host" and sipped tea while nibbling on biscuits....it was wonderful to feel pampered after a day of exploration in the Petra National Park.

The staff is nice, the food is varied and delicious, and honestly, you can't beat the location. It was wonderful.

I haven't stayed here but I know one or two other VTers seem to have.

Here's the weird thing: I looked for a photograph of it on the internet and came across several entries where people are claiming that the hotel owner runs a scam.

I met the owner and a few minutes of chit-chatting can't attest either way, but he seemed nice enough.

It's located a few minutes in town (Wadi Musa) up on a hill overlooking Petra in the distance. Actually I think the view at night is the one worth seeing - the twinkling stars overhead and in the distance, Petra...

The patio was decorated in a charming beduoin style and meals are served there as well.

I didn't have time to actually see a room, but judging by the rest of the place, the rooms should be clean and comfortable.
