Rosh Pina

by jadedmuse - last update: Aug 14, 2005

Nestled in the Hills of the Galilee

Rosh Pina is a popular place among contemporary Israelis who love to spend a weekend in this cool mountain area here. Established in 1882 by Romanian Jews who emigrated to the area, Rosh Pina was the first settlement in the Galilee, which makes it a source of Israeli pride. The cobblestone streets and charming, renovated houses that hug the cliffs are what give this area a distinctive feel. It's an attractive spot for a meal, romantic dinner, or just a drink.

Easy to get to Rosh Pinna from the town of Tiberias (about a 20 minute drive northwest).

Hi Michele, my great-grandfather was kicked out of Rosh Pinna after an affair with a school teacher. It was so bad, he left Palestine and settled in Cairo. Nice page you got there!

Maybe next time u should have a romantic trip here only with D. to appreciate it more. I've discovered (3 weeks ago) a great restaurant there with a fantastic view all over the area till Mt. Hermon...which reminds me i should add it to my page...
