Shoresh is a less combustive alternative to staying in Jerusalem - yet it is close enough to take a taxi or drive to Jerusalem without a problem.

The first time I visited Israel, I stayed at a friend's condo in Shoresh and as I recall, it took us about 15 minutes to get to Jerusalem by car.

Shoresh seems to be a more recent Israeli development, possibly favored by locals from Tel Aviv who don't want to drive too far to get away from the big city on the weekend....yet want your standard creature comforts in a peaceful, scenic setting.

I enjoyed our brief visit here.

I just booked 9 rooms at Shoresh Hotel for a family gathering this weekend. Hope it doesn't pour!

Stone's throw is appropo for a country with such a Biblical history :o) Beautiful though is it not?
