This was well worth getting up early for to watch the sun rise over the canyon at a time when it's still peaceful and the morning air is still able to intoxicate you. |
| | Angel Trail Another way to see the canyon is to hike it or take a mule train to the bottom. Most of my hiking on this trail was done hugging the canyon. The trail is very very narrow most of the way down. (No I did not hike down all the way...only to the point where it says that beyond this point make sure you are well prepared and have plenty of water with you. It takes a good day to hike to the bottom.) |
Helicopter Ride One way to see the canyon is to fly over it in a helicopter ride. At the time it was $75.00 for a half hour ride. Way to long for me. I was seated next to the full window and the experience was uneventful. I have a fear of heights and could not bring myself to look out the window on my side....not even to take pictures. The ones I did manage to take were shot out the other side of the helicopter. Each time we turned it felt like I was going to slide right out the door. That had to be the longest half hour in my life. | | |
