"Along the White Summit Pass fof the Yukon" Yukon Territory by myrmidon

Leaving Skagway, Alaska on the side tour from the cruise I rode on the bus along the Klondike Highway. The trip was peaceful with several stops along the way to see the sites.

Waterfall along White Pass

There were many waterfalls along the route. Some of them right off the highway. The Klondike Highway runs from Skagway, AK into British Columbia for a short distance before entering the Yukon territory. It tends to run parallel to the trail taken by the prospectors during the 1898 Klondike gold rush. This highway goes into Whitehorse. We did not go that far but the short distance we did go into the Yukon was gorgeous.

Along the pass we stopped to look out over the summit. One spot we stopped at was filled with dwarf trees and a rocky terrain. The guide explained the ground was too cold for the trees to grow more. It was spotted with little springs and lakes.
