Sat 1st May GROAAAAAAN took the 7.40am train to Toronto, cost $31.03 cdn for a single (you can book online at www.viarail.ca, tel 1 888 842 7245) to meet CDNJane and Lalkens. Visited ice cream places (yum!) market places, took pics of everything.I admired the skyline of Toronto and also the way Jacob fell in love with the Grolsch adverts! Shopped for CD's as it was difficult to drag Roy away from any music store, you wouldn't think he worked in one would you? Having bought a suitable selection we proceeded, but I've forgotten where we went! what did strike a chord was the ride in Jacob's Mazda sports car, Dire Straits blaring out, me playing with windows and sun roof, hanging on for dear life at the corners and generally behaving like a hooligan. Jane said "did you see the blah blah building on your left as we passed whatsit street?" WHAT building??? I was too busy acting like a 16 year old! Finally passed out in The Grange Apartment/Hotel. 165 Grange Avenue, Toronto ON M5T 2V5 tel 416 603 7700 cost $59.81 per room. Very clean room, clearly a one-roomed apartment complex. You may also be placed at The Alexandra 77 Ryerson Ave Toronto ON M5T 2V4 416 504 2121 info@alexandrahotel.com as they appear to be connected?. |
| Lalkens and Suet discussing duct tape.... |
| | Hanging Out with Lalkens Laughed so much with Jacob! loved the way his camera was held together with duct tape! had a long discourse on the pros and cons of beer, cars, music, rallying, and yelled fffffffffffor goodness' SAKE (or the equivalent) at every group pic. |
| | Toronto a la Jane What a fantastic Tour Guide Jane is! She took us all over Toronto walked everywhere and rode part of it by trolley bus on a day pass ($7.50 cdn 416 393 INFO or www.ttc.ca ). Must have walked 20 miles at least!. |
