Crawling into New York Half Dead.....

Roy's first pic of New York City
Thus 6th May
Needed to get the car to Newark Airport by 8.30am, so another lovely 3.00am Start To The Day... Healthy breakfast of potato chips and diet coke and we were all set. How wonderful to see the sun rise for once at 4.45am, made me feel glad that I was still alive (sort of). Met the deadline of getting the car back, total cost of car hire $465.54 with full insurance and a "they fill it up for you" fuel option which saved a lot of messing about trying to find a gas station. Simple and easy return, no probs. Hertz have it all well organised (Hertz.com worldwide reservations 1 800 654 3131). Entered the airport and took the Airtrain to the main train station. $11.55 single to Pennsylvania Station in Manhattan and due to Roy's PERFECT organisation of the trip, was within walking distance of the Ramada New Yorker Hotel, right in the heart of NYC opposite Madison Square Gardens. We couldn't get into the room until 3.00pm so left the luggage and picked up the New York City Pass at Planet Hollywood in Times Square 1540 Broadway NY NY 10036 212 333 STAR. My three day one was $105, Roy got a 7 day pass for $120, ordered it over the internet and got a big discount. Well worth the purchase as you get free entry to most things and a book that tells you where you can go. We took the boat to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island which was amazing (cost $10 without the Pass). Lunch chicken sandwich $4.75 and Roy's burger $3.50. We finally made it to the hotel, showered and then I really was dead, so we slept for 14 hours.

Meeting Wiley Coyote

Raced back to the Hotel for a wash and brush up to meet Wiley_Coyote… heh heh! The reason why Wiley looks so surprised in this photo was because he suddenly realised I was wearing frogman’s flippers along with my evening dress. We talked about poo, worms and other things, surprising that Wiley got a word in edgeways really. But we agreed that the meet was too short. Perhaps you really will come to my home and cook a meal or two with me Wileyman!

He's certainly an interesting character... his eyes are intense... deep dark pools... what a nice young man!!

Meeting with L_Laurent

Then after that took the subway again to Chinatown to meet J_Laurent. Hiya Jen!!! Had some Dim Sum and tea at somewhere, total cost for 4 people $10 definitely cheaper to live there than Manhattan.

OMG Sue you are funny. I laughed when I read your descripton of the Bronx Zoo, and the Guggenheim. I'm not a museum person so it was very funny to me. Liked the "wrap" line also.

Next time you visit NYC, check out Kenka in the Village for great Japanese food. Veeeery interesting menu. It's loud and the chairs are uncomfortable, but you'll eat well and inexpensively. It's at 25 ST. Marks Pl., NYC near Second Ave.

I have always wanted to go to the MOMa, and maybe the Guggenheim, but I know what you mean. I like to look at modern art for fun, although I often just shake my head. I think your flies have the piles of yellow flower pollin we saw in a museum beat.
