Ramada New Yorker Hotel, right in the heart of NYC opposite Madison Square Gardens and 5 mins walk from Pennsylvania Station. Very old hotel, not exactly new fittings in the room, but location was perfect for seeing NYC. Roy found that it was very affordable if you booked in advance over the internet.
Unique Qualities: Business centre and gym downstairs, good view from the window of the room providing you gave yourself a hernia, friendly staff. Good security too, if you came back late at night, they checked to see if you really had a room key. Handy all night restaurant through the lobby of hotel.

Next time you visit NYC, check out Kenka in the Village for great Japanese food. Veeeery interesting menu. It's loud and the chairs are uncomfortable, but you'll eat well and inexpensively. It's at 25 ST. Marks Pl., NYC near Second Ave. | KimberlyAnn Wed Aug 27, 2008 19:04 UTC
