Luggage And Bags: Pack at least two day's supply of clothing, all your meds, camera equipment and important documents in your carry-on, in fact everything you cannot afford to lose... it's a long trip and your main bags can get delayed.
Rolling bags are great, saves wear and tear on the muscles... but pack lightly, as there needs to be room in the case for your souvenir hula skirt!!!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: GOOD walking shoes are a must if you plan to travel to the Big Island to walk across lava flows, sensible footwear is essential.. it's like walking on glass splinters in some areas...
Toiletries & Medical Supplies: Your own medicines for at least the whole of the stay and a few days afterwards in case you decide to prolong your holiday! Plenty of sunblock and moisturiser too.
Photo Equipment: Digital cameras are a must and bring a few spare memory sticks... you'lll take LOTS of pics... I took a video camera and used up about 4 hours worth of film... let's face it, it's the holiday of a lifetime and you may not get the chance to go again..
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: You CAN camp on the beach and at the car parks... it's certainly warm enough to sleep out and makes for a really cheap holiday.
Miscellaneous: Watch out for the sun! it is intense and if you plan to spend all day on the beach and are a fragile wilting pale flower like myself, go for factor 325 or higher lol... the worse thing you can suffer on a beach holiday is sunburn.. it makes you feel miserable.
