Ehhh she must like me... she invited me back!!

Suet on a boat
That poor woman... fancy having to put up with me for 2 weeks! well at least she didn't strangle me which says a lot for her self control heheh

I had a blast... the cabin was fun and relaxing as well as watching the surfers....

This pic was taken while whale watching, we DID see whales but no stunning pics I am afraid....
Waimae beach

Waimae Beach

Well, it's difficult to describe paradise, but here goes... long white sandy beaches, soft under bare feet, feels like silk as you walk through the warm water. Blue skies and waving palm trees, everyone in light colourful clothing, flowers in their hair.

Watching the surfers and paraglider surfers is total joy... they are so graceful and fast. You keep watching, hoping for that perfect wave and the long ride.

I am hypnotised by the surf.... long smooth swells that hit the shelf of the beach and then rise higher and higher, green glass with a white foam edge, higher and higher until it spills over and curls............. the surfers paddling to catch the wave and a brief moment of sheer freedom until the wave crashes onto the beach.

Young men without surf boards just having fun, yelling, whooping, getting bowled over by the waves, laughing, going back for more....
Surfer boys!

Surfing Competition

Well we didn't find out who won, but watching them was great! not very high waves, but a lot of skill involved in staying upright... and no, we didn't go in!
