We've been here several times now. The town is on the coast with a harbour and harbour walls. The tides are reputed to rise and fall 20 feet here which makes for tricky navigation at times. The town is a lively place, full of good restaraunts, frequent street entertainment and lots of little cafes. It is definitely a toursit place, quite expensive, but providing you don't go mad with the money, you can be entertained by the constant passage of people. |

Years ago I had a pen friend from La Rochelle so had to check the place out. Loved the look of that crab. Crab is very popular here in Mackay. You can catch them in the creeks here...big ones and a real delicacy...expensive too, to buy...:] |
