"KO TAO - NANG YUAN - AUGUST 2007" Ko Tao by mehbos37

We went to Ko Tao in late August. We flew from Bangkok to Ko Samui( 45 minutes) and took a ferry(speed boat) Lomprayah Catamaran ( 1.45 hours) from Samui to Tao.
The island is completely more beautiful than Samui,Phangan or probably Phuket. Only 21 sqm , 1.000 people .Huge rainforests, wildlife..wonderful beaches.. They say it is the diving center of Thailand.Can't say no, but still we enjoyed it very much without diving.

Ko Tao has many beautiful beaches and bays surrounded by rainforests..

The water is crystal clear ,especially in places like Jansom Bay you may swim with thousands of fishes..Snorkeling is very exciting and simple.

Nagn Yuan Beach

Nang Yuan is 20 minutes boat trip from Ko Tao.

To me, it was the most interesting place among places I saw in Thailand.

The beach,the water,the colours of fishes.. I will go there again. And stay for a couple of days..
There are a few lodging options I think. But no hotels,no bars etc..

• Pros:The wonderful nature,cleanest water,laid back life
• Cons:Still less developed ,poor roads.
• In a nutshell:If you are nature lover, it is a must see.
