Ofcourse depending on how you chose to enter Fraserburgh your view is different. But automtically you will notice it's no great shakes. The small N-E of Scotland Fishing town isn't light bright and vibrant but it's not a bad place.
As i'm sure you'll appreciate as you read on...
the town center is home to only a handfull of stores (Woolworths, Justrites the two main sites.)
However a new planning development has just passed allowing an Argos.
The community hasn't got the best of reputations (Drugs is a main source of critisism) Howvere it is no better or worse than the other towns around its area (Peterhead for example) but i find the people to be welcoming and friendly to newcomers.
Fraserburgh has a beach which did acctually win Scotland's best beach award only 4 or 5 years ago. A recent community project has re-cleaned the beach and the council has placed a childrens playpark at the area. (You must understand however it is the North Sea and can be very cold.)
Fraserburgh is home to the lighthouse museum which is fantastically interesting should you be into ships and seas and the charge is reasonable.
there are many pubs in fraserburgh and also a nightclub.
there is the fraserburgh FC highland league football side, (whose current league form (oct2003) is 5 wins from 5)
Also Aberdeen is only 44ish miles awa and there are many buses to there.
- Pros:Quiet, pleasant and visitable area.
- Cons:Drug's, Night time yobish behaviour and lack of excitment.
- In a nutshell:Not really on the tourist map, deservadly.

We visit Fraserburgh quite often on our trips to NE Scotland and always call at the Lighthouse Museum for tea (great view) It's a shame the area around is not so pretty - we think it has great potential. Beach is really something, but sea is a bit cold!
