    • Romans drive like maniacs. And even if you are in the crosswalk, they will still try to mow you down. Some tips we picked up to help you survive: (1) Don't make eye contact! For some reason, if you look at the driver it's like challenging him or her. Just look straight ahead and walk with a purpose. (2) Try to stand next to a nun. Honestly. Cars will come to a screeching halt for a nun, so you're much safer in proximity. (3) Be really, really careful.

    • Disgusted by the Pepsi and wine suggestion I listed earlier? I don't blame you. But this one is good, I swear. Fragolino is a type of wine that tastes heavily of strawberries (I was told that the grapes are grown in the same field as strawberries, thus giving them a distinct strawberry flavor). It's meant as a dessert wine and is quite sweet. It comes in either red or white variations. Restaurants don't always serve it, but you can buy it at many wine shops in Rome.

    • We stayed with a local family in Formia for a night and learned a lot from them! One of the most amusing things we picked up is that mixing Pepsi and red wine is actually kind of good! I know, it sounds disgusting... but it works somehow. Anyway, the family assured us that this is not an everyday practice, but they really wanted us to try it.
