Hotel Majestic: Elegant accomodation at Hotel Majestic Villa & Hotel Majestic Review
Show Prices

The Hotel Majestic is located just west of the Arc du Triomphe, an excellent location in Paris. It is convenient to all of the shops and cafes on the Champs Elysees.

I stayed here the first time I went to Paris. It's a 4 star accomodation (I was on business, lucky me!). The hotel is small, but quite elegant and located along a quiet street with little traffic. The people at the front desk are very kind and accomodating and are happy to speak with you in English. The rooms are large-- reserve a junior suite and you'll get a huge bathroom with full bathtub, walk-in closet and a large bedroom complete with a sitting area and desk. The decor is charming.

Every morning, the hotel sends fresh croissants (the chocolate croissants are amazing!) and coffee to guest rooms. There is also a restaurant downstairs that serves tasty meals. Hotel Majestic is a great place to stay in Paris. I highly recommend it!

The Best Western Derby Eiffel Hotel - Paris

The Best Western Derby Eiffel Hotel

Best Western Derby Eiffel Hotel: Best Western Derby Eiffel Hotel Premier Derby Alma Review
Show Prices

I stayed for 6 nights at the Best Western Derby Eiffel Hotel in April 2004. I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend this hotel to others who are looking for a reasonably priced, three star hotel in a nice area.

I stayed in two different rooms here: A standard double (one queen bed) on the third floor and a larger double (two single beds) on the first floor, off an interior courtyard.

The standard double was small but very tasteful. The bathrooms are completely new and spotlessly clean. The linens on the bed were nice and comfortable. Also, the room was very quiet. No noise at all from the hallway or the street. There's not much space in these rooms, which could be a problem if you have a lot of luggage, but otherwise it should be fine.

The larger double was definitely more spacious and the bathroom was unbelievably large. I've been in 4-stars that had much smaller bathrooms. The only problem with the lower rooms is that the carpet is a little yucky and there was some water damage to the lower walls. Not a big problem, though.

Unique Qualities: The hotel has a (small) elevator, a lovely lounge with leather chairs and a bar. The hotel offers breakfast till 10:00am for 10 euro. You're just a quick walk from the Eiffel Tower, Ecole Militaire and Rue Cler. There is an internet cafe around the corner. We paid about 140 euros/night, which I thought was a GREAT price for what we got.

The people at the front desk speak English and are extremely helpful. Michelle, who is often at the desk, is one of the nicest women I've ever met and she went completely out of her way to help us during our stay. She is a gem!!

Address: 5 Avenue Duquesne; Paris FR-75007

Comparison: about average

Directions: Right near the Ecole Militaire Metro stop, on the Left Bank. The hotel is located very near the Eiffel Tower and the Rue Cler area.
