I was in katherine for a few days relaxing after some long drives around oz the natural hot springs here are fantastic its hard to pull yourself out ,i decided to check out katherine gorge .Upon arrival i found it to be well set up for tourism with organised hire boats and canoes and tours aswell as a kiosk , there's also a variety of hikes you can do and there not for the faint hearted in fact while i was there someone had a heart attack , i did a bout a 15km hike over fairly rough terrain that was often steep and rocky in parts ,at the end of which i was rewarded with a great spot to swim and sunbathe .

Ill include Edith falls in this as its actually at the other end of the Katherine gorge and if your really keen you can hike to and from each point . There is some really beautiful scenery here ,you can swim basically anywhere along these estuaries and water holes and in the hot outback sun its heaven .

Gr8 tips & an excellent t/logue with superb photos Dave. Pythons are amazing & beautiful aren't that, but I'm not really a reptile sort of guy.
