They call it gods country Hi there, sydney has it all and more ,growing up on the northern beach suburbs it was a perfect environment with golden beaches and national park minutes away its awsome .The nightlife of sydney is addictive and theres always something open at all hours, awsome sights including the harbour bridge and opera house and the harbour itself is pristine ,whales have come in lately , which is a sign the water quality is excellent, catch a ferry to manly for the day or stay there..Youll find people are on the whole are friendly ,summer is really when it comes alive, beach in the day and party at night, the aromas of suntan lotion perfume and the smell of a barbeque cooking is intoxicating personally. To me everything you could ask for is right here , im yet to see beaches with great surf that compare to the ones in the north of sydney and that are as clean, i know alot of people see sydney in terms of the harbour and the opera house and bondi beach and those things are great to see but theres a bigger picture here ,its a developing culture thats perfecting a lifestyle. |

| | One thing that is noticeable here is that although sydneys the oldest city in australia on a global scale its relatively new with its bicentenery celebrated in 1988. Settled by convicts who were sent here on ships for things like stealing a loaf of bread or even being drunk they were mostly irish and english ,men, women and children who often died during the long journeys under sail. From these ancestoral roots alot of these convict families developed contempt for the law who had already judged them harshly and gave them a life sentence in a strange land ,but from this the people learnt to overcome there grim reality and strove to build a nation, Sydney being the first city. |
| | The blue mountains Lying west of sydney is the blue mountains, about an hours drive west of sydney not far . The first expedition to cross these mountains was by explorers Blaxland,Lawson and Wentworth in 1813 which proved futile and they were luky to cover 5 kms a day as it is very rugged country, a later attempt by Evans proved succesful 6 months later and found the sweeping fertile plains of the inner west . |
