Why No Love??

by JoeNYC - last update: Dec 5, 2008

Frankfurt often gets no love from visitors and Germans alike. People say it's boring or even ugly. However, I'm from NYC so I like to see some nice skyscrapers and big commerce, which Frankfurt has maybe better than any European city. I have been there five times and always find the locals to be nice and the sites interesting enough. True, other cities might have more history and old architecture, but Frankfurt had a bad time of it in 1944-45.

I wouldn't mind living there since it probably would give you the best chance to get a job in Germany these days and it has the best travel options in all of Germany with its huge airport and many rail options.

Glad you enjoyed your visits here in Frankfurt am Main. I'm an ex-New-Yorker, sort of (went to college there), and feel very much at home here in Frankfurt..
