The whole city was destroyed by volcanic eruption that buried the whole town, the ruin was incredible, one can feel how the people felt when the volcano erupted and they had no chance to escape. There were couple victims on display that showed them in a curling position that I hope they die instantly when the hot ash buried them. The town was probably a major center, from the ruin, looked like there are restaurants and shops, sport arena and other religion buildings and squares. There were also baths and paintings on walls. The site was pretty big but you can plan to enter from one area and exit out on the other side of the ruin so we don’t have to track back. |
| | After leaving from the other end of the ruin we were in the town of Pompei, there are shops and a church at Plazza Blongo with a train station. |
