Mellieha is a small and calm village 30km north of Valletta. It's quite peaceful there except passing cars on the roads and beeping, which means 'give me a way'. Between 1 and 4 p.m. is really silent there and almost nothing works, as it's siesta time like in the rest of Malta. In the nigh time it is calm too, so if you want to experience a nightlife in Malta, pubs and music you should go to the next bigger towns. The landscape is quite hilly there, so you can see wonderful panoramas when walking around. Also it is very close to the ferries to Gozo island, which is a must to see while you're in Malta. |
