When a dream comes true... | Big Ben and Houses of Parliament |
London was a destination I always wanted to go, but never thought I would. Lucky I to go there quite frequently these days. It‘s something I‘ve never expected to be...
As United Kingdom is the country I‘ve visited the most times from all other visited countries, London is the most visited town then, as well. I've been there 7 times so far:
1 - I met 2003 on Tower Bridge on New Years Eve. 2 - I met 2004 in a club at the center of London. 3 - I‘ve spent a wonderful summer of 2004 there. 4 - I've spent another wonderful summer of 2005 there. 5 - two weeks in September, 2006. 6 - two weeks in November, 2006. 7 - 1.5 months in December, 2006 - February, 2007. 8 - 1 day in March, 2007.
So far I can conclude that winter isn‘t the best time to come to London for the tourists. Although it isn‘t very cold there during Christmas, it gets dark very soon and mostly the days are cloudy, dark and rainy. The best you can do is to come there in summer time.

| | Personal feeling about London It may sound strange, but I haven't found London so exciting as I've expected it to be. Maybe I still spent too little time there as for a big city. But maybe it will never capture my heart as some other cities do. At many places it looked a little bit dirty and all these views I dreamed to see weren't so special for me. But on the other hand, London looked like a magnificent city with it's old architecture and feeling its history. Just walking through the streets is really relaxing. You'll never know what you can find around the corner. A little bit away from the biggest streets, you can find lots of narrow cosy streets with old buildings and nice small gardens near them. Special Thames paths seems to be the best place for the calm walking.

| | Definitelly it is FUN! When I arrived to London for the first time, I was really excited to be there and finally to see everything through my own eyes. When I arrived to London for a second time, I couldn't understand a strange feeling inside at the begining. But after a few days I've realized what it was. I couldn't say that I love this town or I am excited about it. And definitelly it's not the place where I would like to live. Maybe it will sound quite strange for many people who are crazy about London and are in love with that town (even on VT's popular places' list it's on the 1st place), but sorry... Not me... Of course, it has LOTS of things to offer and MANY different opportunities for to change your life, but I haven't changed my mind even regardless of coming there quite frequently – about 1.5 times per year so far ;-)
Although I liked London and would like to come back there again and again (and I‘m sure I will). I had lots of walking tours, explored more of this city, have tried almost all possible transport: bike, buses, tube, DLR, taxi, etc. and enjoyed underground and trains (it wasn't so terrible scary as I've expected and I haven't been able to get losted...), had a good time with my boyfriend when exploring new places together, visited some interesting museums, enjoyed English seaside and shopping ;-), had lots of fun and even have been driven by motorbike many times ...:)
