Never-ending love story... Denmark is a special country for me. I’ve found my second home in Copenhagen and so far I’ve never seen anything more beautiful. I was lucky to live in Denmark twice. My first stay there lasted 5 months from 30 August, 2002 until 31 Jaunuary, 2003, as I was there by students exchange program. It was the first my stay for so long in a foreign country. My second stay in Denmark lasted 6 months from 18 October, 2004 until 4 May, 2005. I was happy to see half of spring there this time. And the third time in Denmark was just a short visit for 10 days in the begining of December, 2006.
Spending 11 months in total there, living and communicating with Danes every day made me to go deeper into understanding Danish culture and traditions. And it was much progressing during my second stay there, as I live in a Danish family then. So, I can say that there's no better way for the culture understanding as from the inside. I suppose that the best way of getting to know a foreign country is to live there for a while. Then you can see not only wonderful architecture, attractions and activities for tourists, but also the daily life and things you'll never see by spending there just a few days.
Mostly I discovered Zealand – the largest island of Denmark, where its capital Copenhagen is located. So far I’ve seen:
Copenhagen Lyngby Mon Roskilde Hillerod Helsingor
But it’s just beginning of traveling inside Denmark. Once I come back, I will have a great chance to discover more ;-) And, for sure, I'm going to take it. Who wouldn't?
