We stayed at hotel Luxor on our first trip to Vegas. It's a nice place and we have no complaints. This Egyptian themed hotel is located at the southern end of the Strip, between Mandalay Bay and Excalibur, close to MGM and New York New York. The checking-in went smoothly; we got one of the pyramid rooms. We heard before going that the tower rooms are newer but we thought it was cooler to stay in the pyramid. The pyramid's elevators are at an angle (they are called inclinators) and they make for an interesting ride. The room had all the necessary amenities, was clean and spacious, the beds comfortable. On each floor there were drinks and ice machines. The lobby is very impressive. There's plenty of parking spaces in the back. They have a nice pool area, I was surprised at first to see that the water is so shallow but then I saw that it is the same all over Vegas. If you're staying here try the Pharaoh's Pheast Buffet, we were very pleased with it.

This is one of my favorite places to stay in Vegas. Not too expensive - for Vegas anyway - and always a good service. The only drawback of the hotel used to be its location as Hilton is located off-Strip but since the construction of the monorail, location is not a problem anymore. It has good rates almost all year and the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. They have some good restaurants and the hotel's attraction is "Star Trek: The Experience" which we really enjoyed. It's located near Las Vegas' convention center so if you're going to Vegas for a convention this place is your best bet.
