Crucial Coffee
Crucial Coffe is owned by a South African woman, Wendy Relph. They also serve chocolates and pasteries. It's very small but nice. They are in the process of moving to the end of their small street in a very old looking house. Wendy was very nice and helpful, so go there and support your independent business owner.

This is a great place to stop for a snack or a light meal. They have two floors and some outdoor tanles too. A very cool interior. We stopped for gellato. The only odd thing is you pay in one area and then have to weave through the crowd tasting alll the samples to place your order.
Favorite Dish: I hardly ever eat sweets, but the gellato looked so good I had to try it. The pistachio was very good.

This place is owned by the same folks who run the Barrier Island Hotel down the street. It's a small, quiet place and they have a small patio area out back. Staff was friendly and food was good.
Favorite Dish: I had the crab cakes. Lots of crab meat, but I hate when restaurants drizzle the sauce over the cakes.

the treehouse
If I lived in SA, I'd be here all the time! After a great day of boating we ate here in a treehouse that hung over a marina while a reggae band played. If you ever go, look for several VT signatures on the post of one of the treehouses.
Favorite Dish: ok, without a doubt, this was the best sandwich I ever ate! It was called a minorcan burger and it was ground pork, chorizo, and sirloin topped with pepperjack. It was a taste explosion and I raved about it from the first bite. I am drooling just thinking about it.

This place is great. It is right on the beach and has both indoor and outdoor dining. We sat outside under an umbrella with the ocean right behind us. Great atmosphere especially with a group of friends. Food was very good too.
Favorite Dish: The south beach burger with jerk seasoning, sprouts and homemade salsa. It was very good!

Old town Saint Augustine is full of little nooks and crannies to explore. Katmo took us to one for lunch, The Spanish Bakery. What a great treat! There is not much to this place, but they do it right and seem to have a constant flow of people, but it never seemed overcrowded. It is basically and open air shack with a short menu os imenadas and other Spanish foods. The combos include a main entree, bread (delicious) a drink and a cookie (even more delicious) for $5! you then bring your tray out to one of the many picnic tables outside and enjoy your meal. There is a shed next door where all the food is prepared and they are constantly bringing new breads and foods into the main area.
Favorite Dish: I had a type of chili with no beans served over rice and got an almond cookie on the side.

This was such a nice place. Big outdoor courtyard and great service. I think we all got the Oyster Po' Boy's and they were pretty good.
