We visited New York City in 2002 for my parent's 50th anniversary. My mother was paralyzed in a car accident and uses a wheelchair. Using subways was not really an option as many stations are not accessible, but we found that buses all have lifts. Drivers and passengers were very helpful. We also used a private van service to get around. That was expensive, but saved us a lot of time in getting around. Our son is now a student at NYU so we visit a couple times a year. |

| | Brooklyn Bridge There is a nice walkway across the Brooklyn Bridge with great views back to Manhattan. Would recommend doing it in the morning if weather is predicted to be warm. |
