Behind The Central Historical Museum

Take a walk behind the museum.
Here you will find Soviet 1941 - 1945 war artillery pieces. You may note that the communists almost synbolically have them pointed at a beautiful church in the woods there (so the Museum guide pointed out to me). Take a lovely little stroll to this magnificent church. I promise you wont be disappointed.

Liberation Tank

This is the first tank of liberation to enter the city when the soviets captured Dnepr from the German defending garrisson. You can find the uniform of the captain in command of the tank in the museum with a bullet hole at the heart. Shot by a german sniper. Basically if you walk the centre boulevard of Karla Marx Street from the bottom to the top you will see all. The tank is right opposite the museum. Keep walking and you come to their equivalent of our cenataph in commemoration of their war dead. This over looks the river. Lovely walk.

"Down By The River Side"

Whether for romance, fun, fitness or sheer pure pleasure a walk by the river side is a must at any time of day or night. If the picture will upload this one was taken around 7.30am one late September morning. In the evening / night, it is lit up by the many River Side bars, Cafes & Restaurants. You could of course also take a river cruise, but any time and any season a walk by the river is a must.

Directions: At the top of Karla Marxa Ulitsa, which is basically at the top of the city centre, you can look down at the embankment.

Historical Museum

Everything from dinosaur bones to a panoramic depiction of the battle to retake Dnepr from the Nazi's (sound effects and all). Take the guided tour. The explanation of the female doctor in this depiction alone is well worth the small price.
