squeezed into the northern tip of the Wind River Valley, an oasis among the badlands, turned to tourism after its final sawmill closed in 1987. Given a head start by being just 50 miles from Grand Teton National Park. Dubois is home to the biggest hern of bighorn sheep in the lower 48 states, and celebrates that fact with its National Bighorn Sheep Centre, a 1/2 mile north of the town.
Dubois is also a bargain centre compared to Jackson. Cheaper motels etc. |
What i say rocked up to Dubois late 1 day, everything was shut except 2 bars and the local Motel. Decided to stay there, no idea how much but was cheaper then Jackson and seemed ok. Usual tv, etc etc. Then walked about the deadass town and ound one of the bars for a nice dinner and beer or 2. Of note in the bar where mooseheads, ducks, fish and other assorted stuff over the walls. Also the local drunks where interesting in a harmless way. |
